152!!!

Yippeee!  Two pounds DURING Thanksgiving week!  Go me!! :)

Trying to eat sensibly and drink lots and resist the pumpkin cheesecake that is still in the fridge is all nice.  But the real reward was this:  I bought new jeans!  My "happy" size is an 8.   I have some clothes that are a 6, and that's fine, but sometimes when I'm so thin that everything is a six I think my face starts to look sunken in, so I shoot for an 8 and try to maintain that size.  When school started this fall and I could still sqeeze into the 8's, but they didn't look good AND they were worn out, I instructed Anna to go to Penney's (where she was shopping anyway) and pick up a pair of my favorite jeans....in a 10.  They were too big to start with, but by this past week they were SO big that they were uncomfortable and looked yucky.  So, I grabbed Sarah on Friday and ran to Penney's, to discover many pair of jeans in size 8 that looked just dandy.  And I bought a pair.  So, one more goal has been made!!  Now its on to some of my skinnier clothes that still don't fit, or fit right....

Hmmm...too much birthday partying shows up.  Family HAD to take me out for birthday dessert, and I'd never had biegnets before, big mistake.  Two coworkers had to buy me birthday lunch on different days, and why on earth would the PATT give me a full size candy bar??  At least there was no lack of exercise.  I am still sore from Saturday's raking, and beat.

Good points:  never had beer and junk food at the Rams yesterday, never had a celebratory glass of wine for my birthday.  (wait - is that REALLY a good point???)  Bad points:  Turkey day is Thursday.  Ugh.

Hooray.  Another pound.  :)

Progress is progress, even when its slow, right?

The biggest victory last week was going to a party Saturday night and being so full from dinner that I didn't eat anything.  Not even the yummy looking brownie things.

The upcoming challenge is that Sarah has started swim team, which meets at 6 AM on Monday and Friday.  This means no boot camp.  Walking the dog will now be my main form of exercise most days.

And so it is.

Student treats :(

I faced a dilemma today and didn't handle it well.  For years, treats come my way from students and a variety of other places.  Usually I'm good at politely accepting the treat, and then throwing it away after school.  Today, for some unknown reason, I caved.  I'm not even a huge fan of Krispy Kreme, but this one was calling my name....

I'm sure I'll pay for this one soon.

Noticing a difference again...

Clothes continue to fit better.  There are still quite a few that I haven't dared to try on yet, I know I have quite a ways to go.  But it definately is encouraging to have things fit better than they did a couple of weeks ago.  :)

154! : ]

Well, after a week of lots of exercise and few sweets, I did lose two pounds.  It seems like it should be more, but.... a loss is a loss, and that's good.  Other highlights from the week:

Last night was a sports banquet for Sarah.  I think I ate with good self-control, and watched portion sizes.

Today was a test day at boot camp.  I had no idea how my mile would time, and I did a 10:50.  I had told myself I'd be happy with anything 13 or less, so I was pretty excited.

All kinds of fruits are being devoured at my house, including freeze dried (I found them a few places) and fresh apples.  And they're being devoured by everyone, reminding me of the example that I'm setting.

Lisa, I'm glad you had a busy, productive week last week.  Don't worry about rushing to get to my Q's.  I totally understand!!

156 :(

This morning, I paid the price for two parties in two nights, not exercising as much self-control as I should have, Halloween candy, and not exercising for two of the days last week.  I am sad about regaining a pound after weeks of hard work.  Now, I pick myself up, brush  myself off, and go to boot camp, which is exactly what I did this morning.  Rats.  November HAS TO BE BETTER, because we have the Thanksgiving challenge, then right into the Holiday season.
